Updates made to the 85 SX, 65 SX, 50 SX, 50 SX Mini, and SX-E 5 for 2021.

The next 2021 models of KTM’s vast lineup of motorcycles to be released are the youth motocross bikes including the 85 SX, 65 SX, 50 SX, 50 SX Mini, and SX-E 5. All five of these machines receive updates for MY21, and we have dug through the media information so you can get straight to reading about what’s been changed.

The 85 SX features new Formula brakes that are designed to provide improved braking power and feel, and more consistent brake pad wear. Another update to the braking system is the rear disc, which has increased in diameter from 210mm to 220mm. A new fork boot has been adapted to the new front brake caliper and a new rear hub has been adapted to the new rear disc as well. A new clutch master cylinder design is the final update made to the 85 SX for 2021.

The 65 SX, 50 SX, 50 SX Mini, and SX-E 5 are spec’d with a new WP Xact 35mm air fork that features thinner outer tubes for weight reduction. The claimed weight savings of the 65 SX’s fork is 260 grams (approximately 0.6 pound), while the 50 SX, 50 SX Mini, and SX-E 5′s fork is said to be 240 grams (approximately 0.5-pound) lighter. To accommodate the new fork diameter, the triple clamps on the four bikes have been reworked as well. Also, the WP Xact shock on the 50 SX and SX-E 5 features new settings to match the performance of the fork.

The 65 SX, 50 SX, and 50 SX Mini come with a new tapered handlebar as well as new ODI lock-on grips for 2021. Lastly, all of the bikes except the SX-E 5 have a new throttle assembly with a roller actuation that is said to offer smoother throttle motion and improved cable life, a new throttle cable with better fixation to the carburetor throttle cover, and new graphics to match the look of the full-size SX range.
